Purpose
Monitor and ensure that internal processes, policies and SLAs are followed to guarantee that approvals, Licenses and permits are expeditiously obtained for site build.
Develop and maintain beneficial relationships with key officials at the second and third tiers of government with a view to deriving business benefit for Airtel Nigeria.
Own and manage the environmental (EMS) function at the state and local government level.
Support and contribute to Airtel Nigeria CSR projects at the zone to ensure that benefits are derived by all stakeholders.
Continually scan the environment, advice and recommend strategies to the Regional Zonal Business Managers for meeting challenges posed by government at the state and local government levels.
Develop and maintain relationships with strategic external stakeholders, especially landlords and host communities, to the benefit of Airtel Nigeria.
Act as primary interface between Airtel Nigeria, non-governmental stakeholders and partners with a view to resolving disputes and disagreements that arise from such relationships.
In conjunction with relevant internal functions, ensure beneficial brand image for Airtel in the appropriate quarters at the state and local government level.
Manage and advice Zonal Business Managers (ZBMs) on legal issues and challenges at the state and local government level
Provide advice and support to ZBMs to enable opportunity recognition and access, and risk identification and mitigation.
Ensure compliance to applicable regulations and monitor availability of all relevant documentation to meet compliance requirements at the zonal level.
Interface with ZBMs to ensure compliance to all contract terms to which Airtel is a party.
Own and manage the legal function in the zone end to end.
Qualification
LL.B, BL.
LL.M is an added advantage
Minimum 4-6 years of varied experience in law with 2 years of relevant experience in Telecommunications field
Good understanding and knowledge of Regulatory, government and EMS related issues,
Good working knowledge of Nigerian telecom, business and political environment
Ability to innovate and deliver value to business at multiple levels
Ability to deliver in a volatile/changing business environment.
Ability to communicate and work in teams with diverse objectives
