Purpose

The Director of Physical Development is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the physical development of the University’s estate; is responsible for the coordination and supervision of physical development projects; ensures quality and standard of structures in the University through proper advise and liaison with relevant bodies involved in the construction of all structures of the University: ensures proper preparation of tender documents for the university.

Qualification

The Director must be a person of high integrity and capable of carrying the staff of the department along; must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them into new projects in line with the phased physical development plans of the University.
The candidate must possess a good honours or master’s degree in Architecture, Building or Civil Engineering from a recognized university with not less than sixteen (16) years cognate experience eight (8) years of which must be unbroken service in the university system.
The candidate must have attained the rank of a Deputy Director or its equivalent in a university system or similar institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body such as ARCON. COREN, NSE etc.
The candidate must also be ICT compliant.
The candidate shall not be less than 45 years at the point of assumption of duty.

Purpose

The Bursar is a Principal Officer and h the chief financial officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
By virtue of his position, the Bursar should be able to coordinate the development and upgrading of the University’s strategic plans and to ensure the development and update of the University’s financial management plans. The Bursar should also be able to co-ordinate the preparation of periodic income and expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow estimates and consolidation where necessary. The holder of the office shall ensure that accurate records are maintained of all local and foreign assets and liabilities held by the university and be able to monitor monthly income and expenditure and balance sheet variances against the budgets among other schedules,In a nutshell the Bursar should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution’s financial transactions.

Qualification

Candidate for the post shall, therefore, have to be visionary and have the ability to provide good leadership; must possess personal integrity and demonstrate transparency in private and public life; must be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.
Candidate shall have a good honours degree in Accounting.
However, possession of a higher degree(s) is an added advantage;
must be registered with a professional body such as ICAN or ANAN;
must be ICT compliant with a working knowledge of a relevant accounting package;
must have a minimum of twenty (20) years cognate experience, ten years of which must he unbroken service in the University system.

Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS Batch 21) 2012

Registration starts on the 13th of February 2012 and ends on the 24th of March 2012.

Qualification

1.Candidates should possess any of the following educational and/Professional qualifications (see Guide to Candidates on Educational Requirements for Entry Category):
a) West African School Certificate/Senior Secondary School Certificate.
b) General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level.
c) WAEC City and Guilds or London City and Guild.
d) Ordinary National Diploma (OND).
e) Any other educational qualification equivalent to those mentioned above.
f) All candidates must produce their primary school leaving certificate.
g) Candidates are to note that entry requirement into the following categories is SSCE or equivalent: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, C1, D1, D2, D4, D5, D6, E1, E2, E3, E4, F1, G, H. Any other additional qualifications in these categories can only serve as an added advantage for selection into the branch and not for advancement. See the guide for details.
2. Any candidate possessing higher educational/professional qualification, i.e. HND, BA,/BSC etc other than those stated in paragraph 1 (a-g) should not apply. Candidates are therefore warned that it is an offence to declare false education/professional qualification. This attracts outright withdrawal or dismissal.
3.Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered and accepted during the recruitment exercise will not be acceptable after recruitment and cannot be tendered for the purpose of change of category or promotion while in the Naval service. Only qualifications obtained through proper Service provisions are recognized after joining.
4.Applicants must be between the age of 18 – 21 years at the time of entering into the Training school for school certificate holders, while age 18 – 25 is acceptable for those with higher qualifications e.g. Nurses, NCE etc.
5.Applicants must not be married.
6.Candidate is required to print out Parent/Guardian Consent Form and the Local Government Attestation Form.
7.Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth.
8.Candidates with any of the following problems are NOT to apply: short sight, ear problem, and previous orthopedic operation, flat foot, below the required height, fracture, stammering, or any natural deformity.
9.Applicants must be free from any previous conviction by court of law on criminal charges.
10.Applicants must come to the recruitment centres with the following documents.

12.Candidates will be required to produce original of all copies of credentials listed in paragraph 1 before recruitment.
13.Any candidate suspected to have impersonated, forged or submitted false document(s) shall be disqualified from the recruitment exercise ,and even if ever discovered thereafter. Such candidate shall also be handed over to the Police for prosecution.

National Agency For Science and Engineering Infrastructural (NASENI) invites Applications from suitably qualified Nigerians to fill the position of Director-General/Chef Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Abuja that will soon be vacant.

Purpose

The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer will be responsible to the Governing Board of the Agency and will perform the following duties for all attainment of the goals and objectives of the Agency:
i) Day to day management of the Agency
ii) Provision of the leadership role in research and development in emerging technologies, such as Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) to foster the evolution of a viable Engineering infrastructure system
iii) Liaise with National and International Organizations, including institutions in the area of Research and Development
iv) Ensure effective transfer of developed technology to private and public sector for effective utilization and national development
v) Encourage commercialization of the research finding
vi) Any other duties that may be assigned to him or her from time to time by the Governing Board of the Agency or the Honourable Minister.

Qualification

The candidate must possess a Ph.D degree or its equivalent
Must possess at least twenty (20) years of post graduation cognate experience.
The degree and experience must be in the field of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, Electrical/Electronics, Chemical, Production, Agricultural, Industrial, Engineering Physics, Industrial Chemistry, Energy Studies, and Nanotechnology).
In all cases, he or she must show evidence of capacity for high academic and professional work and ability to initiate relevant research, development and innovation of practical importance.
COREN Registration and Membership of Engineering Professional Bodies or their equivalents shall be an added advantage.
In addition, the candidates must show evidence of good number of Technical Publications in reputable journals and published conferences/seminar papers
Candidates must not be below 45 years of age

Conditions of Service

The Conditions of Service are the same as those applicable to similar positions in Federal Government Research Institutes/Agencies, Colleges of Agriculture and Allied Institutions in Nigeria.
