Purpose

The incumbent is working under the general direction of PAS Program Management
Assistant, he/she discharges support responsibilities for the overall administrative
operations of the PAS office. This duties include dispatching, dissemination and
receiving of PAS out-going and incoming mails, pouches and parcels; maintainace and
operation of office machines, helping to set up venues for PAS programs, periodic
delivery of USG poured collections for the American Corners, ordering and issuing
expendable supplies or other office requirements.

Qualification

Completion of Secondary School education is required.
Minimum of two years of experience working in an office environment with
experience operating modern office machinery is required.
Level III (Good Knowledge) Speaking/Reading in English is required.
Must have a solid foundation of office procedures, manners and decorum.
Must have ability to operate office equipment (copiers, fax machines, telephone,
computers, scanners, shredders).
Must possess moderate computer skills, especially operating a computer in
Windows environment and using applications such as MS Word, Excel, Internet
research method, outlook etc.

Purpose

Qualification

Purpose

Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
However applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the AfDB.

Qualification

Be students, aged between eighteen (18) to thirty (30) years, and currently enrolled in a master’s level degree program or its equivalent in a recognized public or private institution of higher learning. The candidate can apply for an internship within one year of having obtained such a degree.

Purpose

Provide specialized technical expertise to UNODC, NAPTIP, NIS, and other relevant agencies and partners on TIP/SOM matters
Take a lead in and work closely with project partners in determining and implementing activities related to enhancing the capacities of law enforcement agencies, including NAPTIP, NIS, the Nigeria Police Service, and the Judiciary
Ensure timely, efficient, and effective implementation of the project, especially in delivery of project outputs and outcomes
Advise the International Coordinator and the rest of the CONIG team, as appropriate, on local considerations and realities for proper and effective implementation of the project
Facilitate and take a lead in nurturing and creating appropriate fora/opportunities for project activities, including coordination activities with local counterparts that ensure that cultural, local, gender, and other sensitivities are considered and addressed effectively
Oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of the project

Qualification

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, criminology or relevant social or political areas with adequate focus on criminal justice issues.
A first-level university degree in combination with 2 more qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience in law enforcement is required, together with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of human trafficking, migrant smuggling and related crime and social problems as they relate to Nigeria.
Substantial experience in results-based management, training/capacity building, project monitoring, and reporting and evaluation is required.
Matured experience in creating and nurturing appropriate relationships with senior level personnel from both state and non-state actors is required.
Work experience in the United Nations System and/or a beneficiary institution would be an asset.
Fluency in any UN (preferably English) and national language of the duty station.
Up-to-date knowledge and practical experience of United Nations programme policies and guidelines are desirable.

Purpose

Compile list of nutrient enriched hybrids and inbred lines and take stock of seeds available in the cold store.
Participate in the preparation, packaging and dispatch of local, regional and international trials involving nutrient enriched varieties, hybrids and inbred lines.
Arrange nutrient enriched breeding materials in the cold stores in good order to facilitate easy retrieval during seed preparation.
Prepare requested seeds of nutrient enriched parental lines of hybrid, synthetics and other genetic materials for shipment to partners, research institutions and advanced research laboratories.
Supervise casual labor during seed preparation, planting, pollination and harvesting.
Ensure protection of seed production fields and making sure they are free from weeds.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior research Technician, Research Associate and the Scientist.

Qualification

Minimum of ND in Agriculture and at least four years working experience in similar research areas.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and should be able to work extra hours.

Advise the International Expert on matters of democratic governance (manage the NASS and PP components and build partnerships in those areas);

Qualification

Advanced university degree (Masters or PhD) in areas of democratic governance and development including Law, Political Science, and other social sciences.
A minimum of 2 years post Masters experience in planning and implementing NASS and/or PP related activities in the context of electoral reforms and democratic process;
Work experience in democratic governance, including electoral issues, dealing with: (a) policy dialogue and advisory work; (b) leadership and management of research and analysis; (c) design and execution of capacity development programmes; (d) project management, including the leadership of multi-disciplinary expert teams, preferably funded by development partners (UN or other); and (e) promotion of stakeholder/community awareness of and participation in democratic governance;
A good understanding of the social, economic, political and historical trends underpinning African and, ideally, Nigerian governance and electoral processes;
Excellent knowledge of election procedures and frameworks;
Proven track record of advising, organizing and supervising public awareness activities partnering with democratic organizations capacity-building projects;
Skills in training, process facilitation, strategic planning, and partnership-building;
Excellent PC user skills: word processing, spreadsheets, databases and web-based research;
Ability to travel within Nigeria and overseas.

Purpose

The duties and responsibilities of the Field Security Specialist (FSS) include the safety and security of all UNDP staff, eligible dependants, eligible partners and contractors, resources, assets, facilities, programmes, and projects in addition to promoting, enabling and supporting UNDP programme delivery throughout the individual country of responsibility while ensuring compliance with all United Nations security policies, procedures and regulations.
The primary objective of the deployment of the UNDP Field Security Specialist is to advise on the protection of, and minimizing the risk to, UNDP staff, eligible dependants, property and operations in all locations and at the same time enabling UNDP programme delivery throughout the individual country of responsibility. This will be achieved through:
Advising that UNDP security support feature in the programming process at the country office level as well as in the case of each individual project, from project identification, planning, budgeting, implementation and right through to monitoring and evaluation;
Strengthening the security arrangements of UNDP and maintaining a security network of international and national security personnel.
In terms of functional matters related to UNDP security, the FSS will report to the UNDP Security Office through the Regional Security Advisor (or Sr. FSS, if present), who will serve as the primary supervisor.
At Headquarters level, UNDP BOM/Security Office (SO) will, through the Regional Security Advisor (RSA), provide policy and technical advice to the UNDP FSS regarding the safety and security of UNDP staff, eligible dependants, property and operations within the context of UNDP’s development role, while dovetailing with and respecting UNDSS’s mandate and role, and working within the UN and UNDP security policy and framework.
At the Field Level, the Field Security Specialist will be supervised by the Country Director, who will serve as the secondary supervisor. In rare instances where a Sr. Field Security Specialist is present in the duty station, the FSS will report to them.

Qualification

University Degree (Bachelors Degree or Equivalent), preferably in social sciences, management, or a related security field, or formal multi-year education in Security Management, such as military or police, Junior Command and Staff College (minimum 9 months full time) qualification with command experience.
Formal training in security risk management.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant security and development related experience (5 years if candidate is in possession of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline).
Previous experience of working in a conflict/post-conflict or crisis environment is an asset.
In-depth knowledge of security management and risk management.
Knowledge of UN/UNDP business, operations and programming cycle.
Knowledge of UNDP Country Office structure; roles and responsibilities of the Resident Coordinator, CD, DO, SMT, UNDSS and UN Security management System.
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Working knowledge of the language spoken in the duty station is highly desirable, but is not a requirement.
