Addax Petroleum Development (Nigeria) Limited invites qualified candidates for its 2012/2013 National Merit Tertiary Institution Scholarship Awards Scheme

A) General Eligibility

i. Must be Nigerian
ii. Must be a registered, fulltime 100 level undergraduate in any Nigerian Tertiary Institution
III) Must have 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in one sitting including Language and Mathematics

Note:
Any candidate currently a beneficiary of a Scholarship of any kind is not eligible to apply. Dependants of employees of Addax are not eligible to apply

B) Method of Application

i. To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST submit an application with the following information:
a. Surname
b. Other Names
c. Sex
d. Functional e-mail address and phone number

Attach scanned copies of original:
i. Admission letter into institution with information on course of study, years of entry and graduation
ii. SCSSE/GCE O’ level Certificate
iii. Evidence of state of Origin/Local Government
iv. School ID card or National ID or Driver’s License or International passport

Applications without all these credentials will be rejected

C) Aptitude Test

An aptitude test for all applicants will be conducted at the following centres on a later date that shall be communited to successful applicants through their email addresses. Applicant should therefore indicate their preferred centre for the test of their applications:

Purpose

Trainee will learn to operate equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, furnances an other operations equipment. They will also learn to carry out routine plant inspection, completion of log sheets among many other duties.

Qualification

Program Details

Enrollment Conditions

All selected trainees will received monthly upkeep allowance and they will be accommodated and fed throughout the duration of the program while they are in actual training.
Successful applicants will be admitted to commence training in July 2012.

Purpose

As part of our Human Resource Development initiatives, NDDC is embarking on Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the Local Content programme of the current Administration as well as compete globally in various professional fields. The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:
Engineering
Medicine
Computer Science/Technology
Geology
Geosciences
Environmental Sciences
Graduate Pilot Training
Agriculture
Applicants must have gained Post Graduate admission into a recognized University abroad.

Qualification

First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those wishing to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.
Gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a foreign University.
Bond of good conduct from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
a. Member of National Assembly
b. Chairman of the LGA.
First class traditional ruler.
High Court Judge
Persons with evidence of cult membership or criminal record shall not be considered for the award.

The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s mission is to help reduce poverty, improve living conditions for Africans and mobilize resources for the continent’s economic and social development. With this objective in mind, the institution aims at assisting African countries – individually and collectively – in their efforts to achieve sustainable economic development and social progress. Combating poverty is at the heart of the continent’s efforts to attain sustainable economic growth. To this end, the Bank seeks to stimulate and mobilize internal and external resources to promote investments as well as provide its regional member countries with technical and financial assistance.

Purpose

Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
However applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the AfDB.

Qualification

Be students, aged between eighteen (18) to thirty (30) years, and currently enrolled in a master’s level degree program or its equivalent in a recognized public or private institution of higher learning. The candidate can apply for an internship within one year of having obtained such a degree.
Provide a letter from their school confirming their enrollment.
Be citizens of one of the Bank’s member countries.
Be fluent in, at least, one of the Bank’s working languages (English or French).

Terms and Conditions

Interns will be provided with a monthly stipend of 550 UA (ADB moving average exchange rate applicable in November 2011 is 1 UA= $1.58036 = 1.13022 Euro = 2.21172 TND).

Interns will be responsible for their airfare to and from the location of their internship, their visa if needed and will be required to have international medical and accident insurance coverage for the duration of their internship.
